What do I need to start snorkelling?

A well-fitting mask and snorkel are the essentials, with fins a close third for covering distance comfortably. In UK water you will also appreciate a wetsuit. A mask and snorkel set is the easiest way to start, and everything works just as well on holiday.

Are full-face snorkel masks safe?

A good quality, correctly sized full-face mask from a recognised brand is fine for relaxed surface snorkelling. Check the fit carefully and avoid hard swimming or duck-diving in one. If in doubt, a traditional mask and snorkel is the more versatile choice.

Can I snorkel if I wear glasses?

Yes. Soft contact lenses work well under a standard mask, or ask us about prescription lens options for snorkelling masks. Glasses themselves will not seal under any mask.
