Oyster Diving Shop is a scuba diving and snorkelling equipment store based at Maritime House in Hove, East Sussex. We run as our own shop, and we are part of Oyster Diving, the UK's highest-rated dive centre and a PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Centre. Mark Murphy founded the dive centre in 2006, and the same team has been teaching, guiding and kitting out divers ever since. Oyster Diving holds a 5.0 rating from more than 700 Google reviews and was twice voted UK Dive Centre of the Year by readers of Sport Diver magazine, in 2010 and 2012.

That matters when you buy kit from us. The people choosing what we stock are the same PADI and technical diving instructors who teach Open Water courses in London pools, run instructor training, dive the UK coast through the winter and host our group holidays abroad. If a regulator free-flows at Vobster Quay in February, or a fin strap snaps on day two of a Red Sea liveaboard, we hear about it first. Kit that lets our students and club divers down does not stay on the shelf.

Try your new kit in the pool before you take it diving

Spend over £100 with us and you can try your kit in the water for free at one of our pool sessions, with an instructor on hand. It is the easiest way to check a BCD fits properly, trim a new wing, or learn your dive computer's menus before the trip, rather than finding a problem on the boat.

Our pool sites are in Soho in central London, Croxley Green, Englefield Green near Windsor, Caterham, Brighton and Hove, and Bloxham in Oxfordshire. Open water training runs at our exclusive lake in Redhill, Mercers Lake.

Kit for UK water and for the trip abroad

Most of our divers learn in the UK and then travel, so we stock for both. For UK water that means drysuits and undersuits from Santi and Fourth Element, cold-water regulators from Apeks and Aqualung, and technical diving kit from XDEEP and Halcyon, including wings, for divers going deeper and staying longer.

For warm water it means wetsuits and rash guards, fins and boots, dive bags for the flight, and underwater cameras from GoPro and Insta360 for the reef. Plenty of kit does both jobs. A dive computer from Shearwater, Garmin or Suunto, a mask that fits your face and a regulator you trust will go with you from a February dive at Vobster Quay to the Maldives in the spring.

The same team runs the dive centre's holidays to the Red Sea, the Maldives and Indonesia, so we know what is worth packing and what you can hire when you get there.
