Three buttons beat a touchscreen in cold water
Touchscreen computers are excellent on the surface and unreliable through 5mm gloves. If your diving is mostly UK and mostly cold, a physical-button computer like the i770R will frustrate you far less than a touchscreen at twice the price.

Like every dive computer we sell, the i770R can be serviced in-house at our UK dive centre. We will set the gas mixes, conservatism and alarms with you rather than handing over a boxed unit.
Features that matter underwater
Rechargeable lithium battery
No battery changes and no flood risk from a battery hatch. The trade is that you need to remember the charger on a trip, which is a different discipline to carrying a spare cell.
Adjustable screen brightness
Turn it down when you do not need maximum output and the battery lasts noticeably longer. On a multi-day trip this is the setting that decides whether you charge nightly.
Bluetooth and DiverLog+
Logs transfer wirelessly to the free DiverLog+ app, where you can review profiles, add photos and dive sites, and share them. Settings can also be managed from the phone, which is far easier than doing it on three buttons.
Three-button navigation
Simple menu structure driven by three physical buttons. Nothing to learn beyond the first dive, and nothing that stops working because your gloves are too thick.
Remember the charger
A rechargeable computer with a forgotten charger is a paperweight by day three of a liveaboard. If that scenario worries you, a computer running on a user-replaceable AA, like a Shearwater Perdix, is the safer choice for remote trips.
