BARE Aqua Trek Evo Drysuit
BARE Aqua Trek Evo drysuit
The Aqua Trek Evo is the sensible money in trilaminate drysuits. It takes the construction ideas from BARE's flagship X-Mission Evolution and puts them into a stock-size suit at roughly half the price of a made-to-measure alternative.
The fabric is BARE's own Cordura Nylon Oxford 4-layer, which is the reason this suit survives shore diving. Abrasion and puncture resistance are where cheaper trilaminates give up first, usually at the knees and seat.
Within our trilaminate and neoprene drysuits this is the one we point divers at when they want a proper trilaminate without a made-to-measure budget or a made-to-measure lead time.

Stock sizes, so try before you commit
This is not a made-to-measure suit, which is exactly why it costs what it does. Come and try your size over the undersuit you dive in. Trilaminate suits are forgiving on width and unforgiving on torso length, and that is the measurement that decides comfort.
Why divers choose the Aqua Trek Evo
Flagship construction at a mid-range price
The Cordura Nylon Oxford fabric and the felled, double-taped seams come straight from BARE's top suits. You are paying less because it is stock-sized, not because the build has been cheapened.
Built for shore diving
M-PADz knee protection and reinforced seams at the wear points mean this suit tolerates the kneeling and scrambling that UK shore diving involves. That is where drysuits fail, and it is where this one is strongest.
The Smart Collar improves the hood seal
A 2mm collar with a vented neck drain, designed to work with a BARE dry hood. It stops the pooling that makes a neck seal uncomfortable and helps the hood sit properly rather than fighting the collar.
Serviced and repaired here
Seals and zips are wear items on every drysuit. Like every drysuit we sell, the Aqua Trek Evo can be serviced in-house at our UK dive centre, so a seal change takes days rather than a chunk of your season.
Features that matter underwater
Low-profile offset plastic zipper
Lighter and more flexible than a metal zip, offset so it does not sit directly under a harness, and covered by a protective flap. It still needs waxing and careful closing, as every drysuit zip does.
Thigh bellow pockets with drain grommets
Bellows pockets hold their shape when loaded, the grommet lets water out, and the internal D-ring stops your SMB disappearing when you open the pocket at depth. All three matter more than pocket size does.
Anatomical cut
Shaped torso, arms and legs reduce excess fabric. Less bulk means less trapped gas and fewer places for air to migrate to on ascent.
Field-replaceable suspenders
Four-point suspenders plus a crotch strap, and replaceable in the field. Suspenders take the load when the suit is unzipped and they are exactly the sort of thing that wears out on a trip.
Boots come fitted, so check your fins
The Aqua Trek Evo ships with Tech Dry Boots. Drysuit boots are considerably bulkier than wetsuit boots, so your existing fins may not fit over them. Bring your fins when you try the suit.
Who the Aqua Trek Evo is for
- Divers buying their first proper trilaminate drysuit
- UK shore divers who need abrasion resistance at the knees
- Travelling divers who want a light, packable trilaminate
- Anyone who wants flagship construction without a made-to-measure wait
- Divers who fit stock sizes reasonably well
Who it may not be for: if you are between sizes or unusually proportioned, a made-to-measure suit will fit better and be worth the difference. Fit matters more than fabric in a drysuit, and no amount of good material fixes a suit that is wrong in the torso.

Frequently asked questions
Is the BARE Aqua Trek Evo suitable for UK diving?
Yes. The Cordura Nylon Oxford fabric and reinforced knees are aimed squarely at the shore entries and abrasion that UK diving involves. Pair it with an appropriate undersuit for the water temperature.
Is the Aqua Trek Evo made to measure?
No, it is a stock-size suit, which is why it costs considerably less than a made-to-measure trilaminate. Come and try your size over your own undersuit before ordering.
Will my fins fit over the Aqua Trek Evo boots?
Possibly not. It ships with Tech Dry Boots, which are bulkier than wetsuit boots. Bring your fins when you try the suit, because this catches people out regularly.
How does the Aqua Trek Evo compare to the X-Mission Evolution?
It borrows the construction ideas and the fabric approach from the X-Mission but is stock-sized rather than made to measure. The X-Mission fits better if you are hard to fit; the Aqua Trek Evo is the better value if you are not.
Can you service a BARE drysuit in the UK?
Yes. We service drysuits in-house at our own dive centre, including seal replacement and zip maintenance.
Buying the Aqua Trek Evo
If you want a trilaminate suit that will handle UK shore diving and last, without waiting for a made-to-measure build or paying for one, this is the suit we recommend most often.
The only thing that will let you down is fit, and that is a ten-minute problem to solve in person. Try it over your undersuit, with your fins, before you buy.
Choose your size and colour above
Bring your undersuit and fins and try it properly. We would rather you left with the right size than posted one back.
