Fourth Element Argonaut Stealth Hybrid 3.0

The Hybrid is the Argonaut for divers who get into the water the hard way. Two different trilaminates: the flexible Stealth nylon on the upper body where you need to move, and tougher Flex polyester on the lower body where the suit takes a beating.

That split is not marketing. Shore entries over rock, kneeling in a quarry, sliding through a wreck, all of it wears the legs and seat first. Putting the abrasion-resistant fabric there and keeping the flex up top is the sensible engineering answer.

Like everything in our range of drysuits it is fitted over the undersuit you actually dive in, and this one is made to measure rather than picked from a size band.

  • Stealth nylon trilaminate upper body for flexibility
  • Flex polyester trilaminate lower body for abrasion resistance
  • AFT (Articulated For Trim) leg and knee shaping
  • Updated telescopic torso
  • Diagonal YKK Aquaseal composite zipper for self-donning
  • Made to measure using BIOMAP 3D body mapping
  • Choice of seals, valves and boots

Made to measure means lead time

Each Hybrid is built to your measurements. Book the measuring appointment well before the season, and ask us for the current build time before you commit to a trip.

Why divers choose the Argonaut Hybrid

The wear happens below the waist

Look at any three-year-old drysuit and the damage is on the knees, seat and shins. The Hybrid puts the tougher polyester exactly there, so the suit ages better without making the whole thing stiff.

Flexibility kept where the skills are

Valve drills, reel work and SMB deployment all happen with your arms and upper body. Keeping the Stealth nylon on top means you lose nothing in the places movement matters.

Self-donning as standard

The diagonal front zip means you can get in and out of the suit without a buddy, and it sits clear of the shoulder valve so venting is not awkward. On a solo shore dive setup that is a genuine convenience.

Serviced and repaired in-house

Seals and zips are consumables on a drysuit. Like every drysuit we sell, the Argonaut Hybrid can be serviced in-house at our UK dive centre, which keeps a seal change to days rather than weeks.

Features that matter underwater

Two-fabric construction

Stealth nylon trilaminate above, Flex polyester trilaminate below. The join is placed so you get the abrasion resistance across the seat, knees and shins without the fabric change interfering with movement.

AFT articulation

Legs and knees cut for horizontal trim rather than for standing. Less bunching behind the knee, which is what makes the difference on a long dive.

BIOMAP made to measure

3D body mapping rather than a size chart. If you have ever dived a stock suit that was right in the chest and wrong in the inseam, this is what fixes it.

Telescopic torso

Lets you stand comfortably on the surface while still sitting correctly in trim. Updated on the 3.0 to sit cleaner under a harness.

Specify seals, valves and boots deliberately

Wrist seal choice determines dry glove compatibility, and boots versus socks changes which fins will fit. These are order-time decisions and expensive to change afterwards, so raise them at the measuring appointment.

Hybrid or Stealth

The Argonaut Stealth 3.0 runs the flexible Stealth trilaminate throughout. It is the more mobile suit and the better choice for boat diving and skills-heavy work where abrasion is not the main threat.

The Hybrid gives up a little of that flex below the waist and gets back real durability. If your typical dive starts by walking over rock in full kit, buy the Hybrid. Everything else about the two suits is the same.

Who the Argonaut Hybrid is for

  • Shore divers entering over rock, shingle and slipways
  • Wreck and quarry divers who spend time on their knees
  • Technical divers who want durability without a stiff suit
  • Anyone who has worn through the legs of a previous drysuit
  • Divers who want a made-to-measure suit built to last a decade

Who it may not be for: if you dive almost entirely from boats and value maximum flexibility, the Stealth is the better suit and you will notice the difference. And if you are new to dry diving, a stock-size suit is a cheaper way to be sure it suits you.

Frequently asked questions

What makes the Argonaut Stealth Hybrid a hybrid?

It uses two different trilaminate fabrics: flexible Stealth nylon on the upper body and tougher Flex polyester on the lower body, so you get movement where you need it and abrasion resistance where the suit actually wears.

Should I buy the Argonaut Hybrid or the Argonaut Stealth?

Hybrid if you shore dive over rock, dive wrecks, or kneel in quarries. Stealth if you dive mostly from boats and want maximum flexibility. The cut, zip, torso and made-to-measure process are identical.

Is the Argonaut Hybrid 3.0 made to measure?

Yes, using BIOMAP 3D body mapping. It is built to your measurements rather than sold in stock sizes.

Can I use dry gloves with the Argonaut Hybrid?

Yes, but the wrist seal specified at order determines which dry glove systems will fit. Decide at the measuring appointment.

Can you service a Fourth Element drysuit in the UK?

Yes. We handle drysuit servicing in-house at our own dive centre, including seals and zip maintenance, so it does not need sending abroad.

Ordering yours

The Hybrid is the Argonaut we sell most of, because most UK diving involves getting in over something unfriendly. Made to measure, built to last, and repairable here when it eventually needs attention.

Come and be measured over your own undersuit. We will talk through the seal, valve and boot decisions and give you the current lead time before you commit.

Book a measuring appointment

Bring your undersuit and your fins. Both affect what we specify.
