XDEEP Radical Mask – Small
This is the Radical S, the smaller version of XDEEP's frameless mask. It's around 15% smaller than the original Radical L, made for divers with narrower faces, including many women and younger divers. It gives the same wide view and clear glass at the same price.
If a full-size mask leaves gaps at your temples, or you've had a slow leak at the sides that no amount of strap tightening fixes, the smaller skirt is usually the answer. We see this often with divers moving from rental kit to their first owned mask.
Average or wider face? The original size is the Radical L. See the XDEEP Radical Mask – Large.
Small or Large: which Radical fits you?
| This page | Radical S (Small) |
|---|---|
| Best for | Narrower faces |
| Size difference | Around 15% smaller than the Radical L |
| Other size | Radical L, for average to wider faces |
| Price | The same for both sizes |
The quickest fit check: hold the mask against your face without the strap and breathe in gently through your nose. If it stays put with no gaps at the temples or under the nose, it fits. If it feels tight on the bridge of your nose or the skirt edge folds, try the Large.
What it does in the water
The soft silicone skirt is bonded straight to the lens with no rigid frame, so the glass sits close to your eyes. That gives a wide field of view and keeps internal volume low, so there's less to clear and less to equalise on descent.
There's still plenty of room in the nose pocket for pinching to equalise, and the strap and buckles are designed to be adjusted with gloves on. The lens is clear, untinted glass, so colours look natural. It also folds flat, which makes it a good backup mask for a BCD or harness pocket.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the Small or the Large Radical?
This page is the Radical S (Small). The Large is a separate product: XDEEP Radical Mask – Large.
Is the Small only for women?
No. It's sized for narrower faces, whoever you are. Plenty of men with slimmer faces get a better seal from the S.
Can I try it before I commit?
Yes. Spend over £100 on kit and you can try it at one of our five pool sites for free, with our instructors on hand to check the fit.
