Suunto Nautic Dive Computer
Suunto Nautic dive computer
Most dive computer screens force you to squint. The Suunto Nautic does not. Its 3.26" AMOLED display is the brightest screen Suunto has ever put on a dive computer, and in our experience it stays readable in murky UK water just as well as in tropical sun. If you want a full-size, console-style computer that grows with your diving, this is the one we point most divers to.
Designed and made in Finland, the Nautic runs single-gas, multi-gas and sidemount modes with full decompression support and up to five gas mixes. It starts simple for recreational diving and adds capability as you progress, which is exactly what we want from a computer we sell to divers heading towards technical training.
Spend over £100 with us and you can try your new kit in the water at one of our five pool sites for free, with instructors present. That includes the Nautic.

- 3.26" AMOLED display, readable in any light
- Up to 120 hours of dive time per charge
- Wireless air integration with dual transmitter support
- Single-gas, multi-gas and sidemount modes, up to 5 gas mixes
- GPS, digital compass and built-in LED flashlight
Three purchase options: bungee cord mount, elastic textile strap, or bungee cord with a Suunto Tank POD for wireless air integration. Wireless tank pressure needs a Tank POD, so pick the bundle if you want air integration from day one.
Why divers choose the Suunto Nautic
A screen you can actually read at depth
The AMOLED display is the headline feature for a reason. Essential dive data is large, colour-coded and visible at a glance, so you spend less time staring at your wrist console and more time watching your buddy, your buoyancy and your surroundings. With thick gloves on in cold water, the clear interface makes a real difference.
Battery life that outlasts your trip
Up to 120 hours of dive time from a single charge means a week on a liveaboard without hunting for a charging cable. Multi-day UK diving weekends won't dent it.
Gas awareness without hoses
Pair it with a Suunto Tank POD and your tank pressure appears on screen in real time. Dual transmitter support means sidemount divers see both cylinders at once, colour-coded so you know your gas state instantly.
Room to grow into technical diving
Up to five gas mixes, sidemount support and full decompression planning mean you won't outgrow this computer when you move from single-tank recreational diving into more advanced territory. Buy once, keep it for years.
Features that matter underwater
GPS and compass navigation
Mark entry and exit points, plan routes and stay oriented with the integrated digital compass. Offline mapping means it still works at remote sites with no phone signal.
Built-in LED flashlight
An instant light source for reading gauges in dark water, signalling a buddy or finding kit in a bag at a 6am ropes-off. Not a primary torch, but a genuinely useful backup.
Tide, weather and sunlight data
Surface planning tools built into the computer. Check tide state and conditions before you commit to a shore entry.
Suunto app connectivity
Logs sync wirelessly over Bluetooth after your dive. Review depth profiles, ascent rates, routes and gas usage, then share dives or analyse trends over a season.
Wireless air integration requires a Suunto Tank POD, sold as part of the bungee cord and Tank POD option above. The standard Nautic works fully as a dive computer without one, and you can add a Tank POD later.
Why choose the Suunto Nautic
Watch-sized dive computers are great until you're at depth in poor visibility trying to read a small screen through a mask. The Nautic's full-size display solves that without being bulky, and the bungee mount sits securely over a drysuit sleeve.
Against other large-format computers at this price, the Nautic stands out for battery life and the combination of GPS navigation, flashlight and surface planning tools in one unit. Suunto has been building dive instruments for over 90 years and it shows in the rugged, leak-proof Finnish construction.
If you want something more compact, the Suunto Nautic S trades screen size and battery life for a smaller housing. For most of the divers we teach, we recommend the full-size Nautic for readability alone.
Who is the Suunto Nautic for
- Divers buying their first serious computer who don't want to upgrade again in two years
- Sidemount and twinset divers who want dual transmitter air integration
- Travelling divers who need battery life for a full liveaboard week
- UK divers who dive in gloves and low visibility and need a big, clear display
Who it may not be for: if you want one device you can wear as a daily watch, a watch-style computer will suit you better. Browse our full dive computers collection to compare options.
How to get the best from your Nautic

- Pair your Tank POD (if you have one) before you get to the water
- Set your gas mixes and personal conservatism settings on the surface

Frequently asked questions
Do I need the Tank POD straight away?
No. The Nautic works fully as a dive computer without one. The Tank POD adds wireless tank pressure on screen, and you can add one at any point later. If you know you want air integration, the bundle option is the tidiest way to get it.
"Will it really last a week on a liveaboard?"
Up to 120 hours of dive time per charge, so yes. Four dives a day for a week is well within one charge for typical recreational profiles.
I'm not a technical diver. Is this too much computer?
No. Single-gas mode keeps the screen simple for recreational diving. The multi-gas and sidemount capability just sits there until you need it, which is why we suggest it to divers who plan to progress.
Bungee cord or textile strap?
Bungee if you dive a drysuit or thick wetsuit, it adjusts easily over changing sleeve thickness. The textile strap suits travel and warm-water diving. Both are included options at the same price.
Does it sync with the Suunto app?
Yes, over Bluetooth. Dive logs, profiles, routes and gas data sync automatically after each dive.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Orders over £100 qualify for a free pool try-out session at one of our five pool sites, with instructors present. You can also collect from Maritime House in Hove.
