5 Reasons To Try Your New Scuba Diving Gear In The Pool (and it's free!)

Are you ready to take your scuba diving hobby to the next level? Whether you're a beginner or an experienced diver, trying new gear in a controlled environment makes for a safer and more enjoyable dive. With that in mind, pool dives are the perfect place to try out your newest scuba equipment - and the best part is it's totally free!

From practicing buoyancy control to clothing tests, here are five reasons why you should invest some time into pool dives when testing out new equipment.

Get Comfortable:

When diving with a new piece of gear, it’s important to make sure you are comfortable with it and that all the adjustments fit properly. Trying on your gear in a pool is the perfect opportunity to adjust straps and buckles so they are just right when you hit the open water.

Get Familiar

By practicing using your gear in a safe environment beforehand, you will become much more familiar and comfortable with how it works - meaning less surprises when diving in open water. You can get acquainted with the feel and weight of your gear, as well as practice equalizing, clearing masks, adjusting buoyancy and more!

Find Out What Doesn't Work

Not all dive gear is created equal. When trying out your gear in a pool, you can find out if it’s the right fit for you or if something doesn't work as expected. You can also test different features to make sure everything functions properly.

Build Confidence

Trying out new scuba diving gear in a pool gives you the chance to become more confident with it before heading out into open water and facing any potential surprises. This helps build up your confidence so that when you dive with your new equipment, you have already prepared yourself for the experience ahead of time.

Have Fun

Trying on scuba diving gear in a pool can be a fun way to start off your underwater adventure! Even though this part of the journey may seem like a chore, it can actually be an enjoyable experience. So don't forget to have fun with your new scuba diving gear before heading out for your open water dive!

P.S: Hope this helps! :) Stay safe and have fun!
