Apeks XTX50 Regulator
Apeks XTX50 Regulator
The Apeks XTX50 DST (Diver Selectable Tuning) regulator is designed for divers who seek a feature-rich regulator at a moderate price. It offers a range of benefits, making it an attractive choice for discerning divers. Notable features include an innovative Diver Changeable Exhaust system (DCE), hose routing optimization, and the ability to switch between a small and large exhaust tee. Here's an overview of the key features and benefits:
Apeks XTX50 Regulator Feature
- The XTX50 DST features four medium-pressure ports mounted on a rotating turret. This design optimizes hose routing and eliminates sharp bends in the hose, ensuring a more streamlined configuration.
- The Diver Changeable Exhaust (DCE) system allows divers to switch between a small exhaust tee and a large exhaust tee. This choice provides versatility: the wider exhaust tee minimizes bubble interference, which is crucial for underwater photographers, while the narrow exhaust tee offers a more compact and comfortable regulator. The regulator comes with both sets of exhaust tees.
- An optional 5th port is available for sidemount or twin cylinder setups, offering flexibility in configuring your dive gear.
- The XTX50 DST can be converted from a right-handed hose configuration to a left-handed one. However, this procedure should only be performed by an APEKS Authorized Service Technician.
- The Apeks XTX50 regulator is available in both yoke and DIN configurations to accommodate different cylinder setups.
-
All models of Apeks XTX50 come with braided flexi-hoses as standard. These hoses are lighter, more flexible, and durable, improving overall performance.
- Designed for coldwater use, the XTX50 DST is suitable for temperatures below 10°C (50°F), making it versatile for various diving environments.
- The XTX50 regulator is compatible with Enriched Air Nitrox 40 (EAN40) out of the box, offering options for enriched air diving.
Apeks XTX50 DST First Stage:
- The Apeks XTX50 regulator uses the Apeks DST first stage, offering flexibility and performance optimization for divers.
- Over-balanced diaphragm design provides superior performance at depth by allowing the medium-pressure gas in the hose to increase at a rate faster than ambient pressure.
- The first stage features 2 high-pressure ports and 4 medium-pressure ports mounted on a rotating turret, angled for optimum hose routing.
- An environmentally sealed first stage prevents water from entering the main spring chamber, preventing ice buildup and keeping silt and contamination out.
Apeks XTX50 Second Stage:
- The pneumatically-balanced second stage ensures smooth, easy breathing for the diver.
- The XTX purge buttons are large and easy to operate, with a 2-stage progressive purge system. This system allows divers to control the flow rate for various purposes, such as filling lift bags or regulator clearing.
- The large venturi lever features a soft-touch rubber grip, making it easy to locate and use. This design reduces the risk of grit ingress and friction, ensuring smooth operation.
- An easy-to-grip opening effort control knob keeps the diver in control, allowing for adjustments as needed.
- The second stage is manufactured with molded parts that contain an additive capable of killing MRSA, protecting against E-Coli, bacteria, fungi, viruses, mold, yeast, and algae.
- A silicone exhaust valve enhances the breathing performance of the regulator.
- The Comfo-Bite™ mouthpiece significantly reduces jaw fatigue, providing a more comfortable experience for divers.
- A patented heat exchanger surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipating cold caused by gas expansion while drawing in warmth from the ambient water.
