Aqualung Rogue BCD Package: Apeks MTX-RC + Octopus + Gauge
This package pairs the Aqualung Rogue BCD with the Apeks MTX-RC regulator, an octopus and an Apeks pressure gauge, as one fixed rig at one price. It puts a light, travel-friendly BCD with a tough cold water regulator, for the diver who travels but also dives British water and wants the regulator to be the part they never worry about.
The MTX-RC started life as a military specification regulator and it is not the lightest on the market, which is the point. The Rogue brings the opposite virtue: under 2.2kg, back inflation, and a modular strap system that fits you rather than a size chart. Between them you carry the weight where it counts, in a regulator that handles a cold quarry, and save it where it does not.
The package comes with a DIN regulator, an alternate air source and an Apeks pressure gauge. Choose your Rogue size and colour above. If you're unsure of your size, we'll fit it in store.
What's in the package
- Aqualung Rogue BCD, in the size and colour you choose
- Apeks MTX-RC first stage, DIN 300 bar
- Apeks MTX-RC second stage, with two exhaust tees
- Apeks alternate second stage (octopus)
- Apeks pressure gauge with high-pressure hose
Not included: cylinder, dive computer and weights.
Why this pairing works
A regulator built for the water you actually dive
Cold water is where regulators fail, and they fail by freezing open. The MTX-RC first stage is environmentally sealed and over-balanced, which keeps water away from the moving parts and keeps intermediate pressure climbing with depth. It was designed against a military cold water standard.
A BCD that fits and then gets out of the way
The Rogue's ModLock connectors give 27 size combinations, so a short torso with broad shoulders, or a long torso with a narrow waist, still ends up with a BCD that sits properly. Back inflation puts you flat in the water, and the bladder pulls in as you dump air instead of flapping.
Built to be dragged around
The MTX-RC's finish is designed to survive a boat deck rather than a display case, and its venturi and breathing effort controls are sized for thick gloves. The Rogue adds a GripLock tank band with a finger-saver and stainless steel D-rings. Neither half is precious.
Room to change your diving later
The MTX-RC's second stage is reversible, so the hose routes over either shoulder if you move towards twinset or sidemount. The Rogue is the part you may outgrow if you go heavy on UK drysuit diving, and that is a fair trade for a regulator that carries over.
Who this package is for
- Travelling divers who want a tough regulator they can trust in British water
- Divers who have never found a BCD that fits properly
- Anyone moving from a jacket BCD towards better trim
- Divers who want a regulator that carries over if they move towards technical training
- Divers who value reliability over saving weight in the regulator
Who it may not be for: if you want the smoothest breathing and the tidiest hose routing, the Rogue and EVX200 package is the more refined choice. Regular UK drysuit divers carrying steel cylinders will find 15 litres of lift tight, and should look at a backplate and wing such as the Zeos 38 and MTX-RC package.
Set up, tested and serviced in-house
Every package is put together by our own team before it leaves. We set the Rogue's ModLock configuration to your body, connect the BCD's own inflator hose, route the regulator hoses and gauge, check the intermediate pressure and breathe-test the regulator. Both the BCD and the regulator can be serviced in-house at our UK dive centre afterwards, so neither waits in a distributor's queue.
Coloured Miflex hoses can be chosen on the product page as an optional upgrade. Customers spending over £100 can also try their kit in the water at one of our five pool sites for free, with instructors present, which is the sensible way to settle your weighting before open water.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose my Rogue size?
Pick your size and colour above. If you're unsure, tell us your height, chest size and usual exposure suit, or come in and we'll fit it. The ModLock connectors let us swap shoulder and waist components, so the BCD is set to your body rather than to a size label.
Is the MTX-RC in this package DIN or yoke?
DIN, rated to 300 bar. The package has no yoke option. DIN is the standard for most UK cylinders and for technical diving, and if you travel to destinations that use yoke valves, a DIN-to-yoke adapter covers you.
Why choose this package over the Rogue and EVX200 package?
The MTX-RC is the more rugged regulator, built for the harshest conditions. The EVX200 breathes slightly more smoothly and routes its hoses better. Both are properly cold water rated, so choose on ruggedness or refinement.
Can I use this package for UK drysuit diving?
The regulator is built for it. The BCD is the limit: 15 litres of lift is marginal with a drysuit and a steel cylinder, and fine with a wetsuit and an aluminium one. If you dive UK drysuit regularly, ask us before you order.
Does the package include a gauge or dive computer?
The gauge is included: an Apeks pressure gauge with its high-pressure hose, fitted to the first stage. A dive computer isn't included, but we can fit an air-integrated transmitter when you buy one.
Buying the Rogue and MTX-RC package
This is the rig we recommend to divers who travel, but who will also dive in a British quarry in February and want the regulator to cope. The regulator is not light and it was never meant to be. It will outlast several of the alternatives, and the Rogue is easy to carry and easy to fit.
As a package, it arrives set up and tested as one rig, gauge included, ready to dive. Be honest with yourself about lift, and if you are unsure, tell us what you dive and we will say so plainly.
